Just past the 4 metre sculpture of Corroboree Man, Bulan Yuin (Aboriginal figure), the 700m walk snakes you through low scrub down to Renny's Beach with a creek crossing over a walk bridge and viewing platform of the South Pacific Ocean. There are many Gawanda Daran or Dreaming Poles that are hand painted and carved and have been positioned along the trail depicting many species of flora and fauna along the trail.

Guided walks are provided by the local Land Council and take between 30 and 40 minutes.

Wild life is at its most active during dawn and dusk, making the best time for the walk at these times.

South Pacific Heathland Reserve and Warden Head Lighthouse

Along one side of Dowling street is the South Pacific Heathland Reserve. The walking trail is an easy 2km walk with a viewing platform and several information panels across a gently undulating track. There are over 100 species of trees, plants, over 90 species of birds, skinks and mountain dragons. Also be aware that other natural animals exist such as snakes.

Low tide is the best time to use the trail as walking along the beach and around to Warden Head Lighthouse provides great views of the harbour and excellent rock fishing.

Ulladulla Lighthouse

Ulladulla Lighthouse was originally built in 1873 on the Breakwater in Ulladulla harbour. It was relocated in 1879 to its current location at Warden Head, Deering Street.

Just 2km on the eastern side of Princes Highway along Deering Street. The Lighthouse is surrounded by Public Reserve with some of the most spectacular views up and down the coastline.

Along Deering street, is also a great surfing spot with steps erected to help you down the very steep cliff side to the beach. A picnic table is situated at the top of the steps with great views across the ocean. Well worth a stop on the way to or back from the lighthouse.

Just 9 kms south of Ulladulla, 42 kms north of Batemans Bay is Tabourie Lake.

At the end of Caravan Park Entrance Road a short walk across the sand, and at low tide, you can walk across to Crampton Island.

Great fishing and a good spot for diving.

WARNING: Don't get caught on the island on a change of tide. You'll have a long wait until you can get back across. Don't try when the tide is high.

Kangaroos at Pebbly Beach

Pebbly Beach is famous for its kangaroos, is one of the best known beaches between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay with its main attraction of wild kangaroos. The road into Pebbly Beach is a well maintained dirt road, with sections that have been upgraded to full tar.
One of the best experiences on the South Coast interacting with semi-wild kangaroos.

WARNING: These animals are wild and as such, care should be taken and instructions followed.

Pigeon House Mountain

Morton National Park

Pigeon House Mountain is situated within the Morton National Park on the NSW South Coast. Well kept dirt roads lead out to the foot of the mountain and is a popular walking/climbing track.

The track is rated as difficult, is approximately 5km return and takes an average of 4 hours to ascend and descend the mountain from the car park.

From the top of the summit there are incredible panoramic views of rugged cliffs and gorges produced by the Clyde River over many centuries. The view stretches, on a good clear day, from the north coastline of Point Perpendicular to Mount Dromaderry in the south. Absolutely breathtaking.

Some basic facts about Pigeon House Mountain

  • The summit rises to 720 m above sea level.
  • Estimated visitors each year - 8,000.
  • Pigeon House Mountain's aboriginal name is Didhol or Dithol.
  • Didhol or Dithol means Woman's Breast on account of the distinctive shape.
  • Nearest town is Milton.
  • Access Points; Monkey Mountain Road, 5kms north of Termiel; Wheelbarrow Road 3kms south of Burril Lake; Croobyar Road, Milton; Nelligen.
  • 360 degree views from the summit.
  • Barbeques, picnic tables and a toilet are in the carpark at the base of the mountain.
  • Steep climbs and ladders involved in the climb.
  • Named by Lieutenant James Cook, HMS Endeavour, April 21, 1770
  • The first 800m is the most difficult!

One Track For All - Aboriginal Walking Track

North of Ulladulla harbour is the "One Track For All" self guided walking track. The track itself has been constructed to ensure the track is smooth easily transversed and are suitable for wheelchair access.

There are two 1 km looping cultural walking tracks, taking you out along the North Ulladulla headland with platforms to take advantage of the spectacular coastline views north, south and back to Ulladulla Harbour.

Aborignial carved artworks are placed along the walking tracks fitting into the natural surrounds within the walking track.
